Good friend, chairman of Anthrocon, and sometime Dojo poster Dr Sam Conway visited us in LA this past weekend. Here is his Live Journal account of his adventures. I even created a LJ account so I could post a comment. I'm Usagiguy:

He left out the worst part of the journey--stuck at LAX for about 10 hours. No doubt, he will post that part at some other time.

Sounds like Uncle Kage had a great time while in CA, and he certainly does know how to tell an entertaining story based on his livejournal description of the weekend.
Now that you have a livejournal account, maybe you can stop by and visit the "Fans of Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo" (UY_Fans) livejournal Community (31 members currently).

Re: Uncle Kage visits LA
Actually, the 10 hours spent grumbling at the airport and returning to the frozen wasteland of Pennsylvania at 4:30 AM and having to go straight to work after only a brief shower and hasty breakfast, simply made me appreciate all the more the wonderful time I had with the Sakai Clan. Thanks so much again for taking this scinin* in. Next time, my treat!Stan Sakai wrote: He left out the worst part of the journey--stuck at LAX for about 10 hours. I'll sell you a DVD cheap!Steve Hubbell wrote: ...he certainly does know how to tell an entertaining story...

Kage is a wonderful storyteller, and does, indeed, have DVDs for sale. Here is the link to the Anthrocon site. Just click on to "Con Store" for a look at what is available. Besides his DVDs, there are also past con books (including one with a cover by Michel Gagne and myself) and t-shirts.Uncle_Kage wrote:

I suspect at the next Uncle Kage Storyhour that he will tell of his turmoils while stuck at the airport, rather than his time as our house guest. I would like to hear about it myself.
