The story I have planned takes place over a bunch of different worlds, and some of the chapters take place in "borrowed" worlds or use "borrowed" characters.
Now I don't consider it fan fiction since I don't base it entirely off one series, but when I said I was going to include Super Robot Wars (a game series that combines the universes of various mecha anime and manga), someone said "enjoy writing your glorified fan fiction".
Hmm... how to best express myself in signature form?
Well, I'm back. I need to get back into the series, been so long since I read volume 7.
I think as soon as you borrow any copywritten character without permission, it becomes fan fiction. You can't sell your story to anyone, so does it really matter? Fan Fiction is just that. Fiction written by fans. Nothing wrong with it.
