I have got to post those sketchcards that you have gotten for me. For those of you who are unaware, john h has very generously been collecting cards of Usagi drawn by other artists. He has given me almost 3 dozen of those cards by folks like Jill Thompson, Scott Morse, Steve Leialoha, Erik Larson, Geoff Darrow, Tim Sale, Jeff Smith, Eric Powell, Mark Schultz, David Petersen, Tony Harris, Kevin Nowlan, Brian Stelfreeze, and so many others.john h. wrote:Stan,
WOW. You ARE prolific. Continue on your great pace
and I'll see you in your travels.

P.S.: Michael Golden turned in his card and I'll have to get it to you.
I got to go to Spain with Michael Golden. He is one of the most interesting person in comics, though I would hate to have lived the life he had. He is a terrifically nice guy, and such a talent. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you, John.

I had e-mailed Editor Diana yesterday:Stan Sakai wrote:
The tip-in painting is an Usagi portrait, but very different than other portraits I have done. Curious to see what Diana's reaction will be.
"I would be curious to hear what you think of the tip-in. Should I substitute it with another?"
Her answer:
"Hell no! It's magnificent! We all love it!!!!!!!!!!"
So, I guess it's approved.
Let me see if I can name some of the others that GRACIOUSLY
drew Usagi for Stan...
Mike Kunkel, Terry Moore, Jaime Hernandez, Tone Rodriguez, Mike Choi,
Laura Martin, Brandon Peterson, Scott Sava, Josh Middleton,
Enrico Casarosa, Ronnie Del Carmen, Kaare Andrews, Dustin Nguyen,
Cat Staggs, Chris Moreno, Stuart Sagyer, Matt Wagner, Todd Nauck,
Richard Starkings, Cliff Chiang, Barry Kitson, Bill Presing, Bill Stout,
Stephane Roux, and Sho Murase.
I made scans of the last 4.

Terry Moore is one of the most approachable artists on the con circuit.
Most often he offers convention commissions. His at-home
commissions are quite rare and pricey.

Thumbnails for 130 are done. I'll start pencilling this afternoon. Hopefully, this issue will be finished in about 4 weeks.
I got approval on my WoW page, so will have to draw that as well. I hope to finish it by beginning of April.
No word on the Groo vs Conan story. Sergio says Mark has pages. I'm anxious to see them.
Two Spider-Man Sundays are scheduled to be delivered on Saturday. They need to be sent back to Stan on Monday.

The colors from the scan are not as intense as the original, but the final print looks fine. I was trying to post the actual tip-in, but Live Journal could not accommodate the format Cary sent it in as. This will be the first time I'll sign the tips with a silver pen.
