If the unaired pilot episode of SPACE USAGI would be included on TMNT DVD volume 5, would you be more likely to buy it?

The two episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 1989 featuring Usagi will be released on the next volume of the old series in half a year. Because of that, I believe this is the last chance to get the full SPACE USAGI short film (also from Fred Wolf Films) to its fanbase. I would love to see it, but I have a feeling that my opinion alone is insufficient to persuade the powers that be at Artisan/Lion's Gate. I might be mistaken, but this would be rather costly, right? So, please help this humble Usagi/TMNT fan achieve victory. Arigato.

Unfortunately, that will not happen. The properties are owned by different holder.

Also, I'm working on something right now that may prohibit exploiting Space Usagi in this way (though it doesn't have to do with SU). Hopefully, I'll be able to provide more news in the coming weeks.

Awww, shoot... Are you suggesting that this film was created without permission? I apologize, but I'm afraid I don't understand how this is an issue of exploitation, though I've heard something similar once before. Are you opposed to televised representations of Usagi or just Space Usagi or something else?
I personally believe that Usagi should have his own show since he is one of the most respectable fictitious characters for the job. He's honorable and enjoyable enough to work as a cartoon. And, I'm a bit more likely to watch a video than read a comic. But, if comics are my only option...

The SU teaser was done under license and permission as I recall, but as Stan revealed, the TMNT Usagi and Space Usagi animations this far are simply held by different licensees...which is a surprise to me because I thought both were produced by MWS??

But Stan, you've intrigued me with your statement... too bad you can't spill the beans now! What could it be? An Usagi OAV? TV series? Film? The only thing I can think of that would prevent using SU in anything would be a full-fledged deal with a company to produce an Usagi animation with a clause that nothing "similar" to Usagi (i.e. SU) can be marketed in any way in the future....I can see a licensee doing this to protect their investment... but I could be way off here... guess we'll have to wait and see...

It appears I have failed. The ep list for TMNT vol. 5 has been posted on ninjaturtles.com's update page last Friday. Both Usagi eps are listed, but no mention of Space Usagi.

Though both TMNT and Space Usagi were animated by Fred Wolf, SU was licensed to Turner Licensing. The deal with Turner has elapsed, but they, along with other parties, hold the rights to the animation.

I doubt that Artisan/Lion's Gate would be willing to pay an additional licensing fee to include the SU short.

Hopefully, we'll be able to announce something in time for San Diego.
