Well, I am not too sure just what a Mighty Mugg is, but there now is a custom Usagi Yojimbo version of one, and it looks pretty cool!

- Stan Sakai's long-eared ronin samurai in his mighty mugg debut!
- Finally - my first real mugg post! This one took over a month to complete, though i had a blast making him.
- I decided to try to create a mugg utilizing the same processes that go into a production mugg (i.e. - stencils and air brushed thin coats of paint). so almost everything you see is stenciled, with the exception of the line work on the ear-wrap, and the little black dots on his shirt . with the satin finish coat, there's almost no texture to the paint, giving it a real mighty mugg look.
- as far as design, i wanted to ride the line between honoring the comic, and creating a mighty mugg version of usagi.
- the hat and ears are made from skulpy, the sheath is made from pine (with a wood-stain & paint finish), & the sword is made of steel (painted & clear-coated).
- I used fast-dry acrylic enamels exclusively for this mugg. They were obtained from a local car paint dealer, as sample paints (though they were still pretty pricey). They worked flawlessly through the air-brush, and dried almost instantly!
- look for a tutorial to come soon for this guy! [/list]
My kids collect Mighty Muggs, they are super fun and collectible. This one takes the cake. I would love Dark Horse and Hasbro to get together to make it happen. They already have the Marvel series. It would also be a great way to introduce kids to Usagi.
