Good question. According to that Wired article, three out of this group of four modules on the ISS are named after the TMNTs, so it seems a little strange that they didn't go all the way with that naming scheme.

A few years ago NASA did some sperm research on one of their missions. They approached Matt Groening to use Homer Simpson on their patch. Of course, he agreed.

I was given one of those patches with Homer as the sperm mascot.
