Hello - Newbie

Post by Nelvisimo »

Hello folks,

I've just joined up and thoughht I'd say 'Hi'....so 'Hi!'. :D

The forums here look nice and friendly and I've already found out more good stuff about the Rabbit Ronin from just a couple of days of lurking!

...very, very tempted by those sketchbooks...need to get paid...and for my wife to stop thinking I'm insane...

Started reading Usagi again this year after a near 20 year abscence?! I might have beceom slightly obsessed in these last few months as I'm waitinig for the last of the trade paperbacks to turn up and complete that part of my collection...then I need to start getting back issues of the singles...which seem to be hard to come by on the UK...

So...yeah...I don't normally ramble this much...I'm quite tired.

Yes, welcome to the UY Dojo Forums! :D

Most of us here really enjoy the adventures of the long eared ronin, some of us somewhat over the border of being obsessed.

(As I sit here trying to patiently await the arrival of my newest French and Italian Usagi books)

Welcome! Blimey, an actual newbie in amongst all the spam signups

(sorry, bit of an in-joke there!)

As already alluded to, most of us around here are mad. So you'll fit right in. Especially as you're British like me heh.

Your best bet for back issue singles here might be places such as Forbidden Planet. Most independent comic retailers I know generally might get in the latest issue, and then they all sell through within a few days, so they never have stock left over each release. But it might be easier (perhaps) now that Usagi is on a short hiatus while Stan is doing 47 Ronin. You have less issues to catch up on!
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

Thanks for the greetings guys!

Is it wrong to be re-reading the trade paperbacks for the third time this year? Lots of catching up to do!

I had forgotten all about Forbidden Planet..although my memory is tickling me with warnings about card info theft on their site...is that dementia or truth?

'United Hare Kingdom'...ha! :D

Got to admit I've got a love/ hate thing going on with the Usagi hiatus...love as, yes, I can catch up...hate...so typical of my timing! Its like when I bought a Spectrum +3...and again when I got an Atari 520....both obsolete and unsupported within 6 months or a year of me getting one!

Still...47 Ronin is on pre-order and I'm intruiged by the War of the Worlds project idea!

Strange! I wonder what was keeping you from being able to post in this thread?

I tried 4 times, but kept getting an alert that I can't post so soon after my last posting. The thing is, I hadn't posted anything.

Anyway, welcome to The Dojo, Nelvisimo!

I've been reading "Usagi Yojimbo" ever since I first checked it out in March 2011, and I still think it's one of the best comic book series I've ever read. :D
