What to buy - Return to San Diego
So yes... I'm going to be heading back to San Diego this year, courtesy of having some money this time and the generosity of one person we all know here...
For those new to the Dojo since last time, in the same manner that Stan asks what people would like him to bring to the show, so comes my reciprocal thread for all those stuck in Europe who would like some goodies brought back from Comicon.
Just to reiterate a couple of points from previous years... anything small is fine and will be costed accordingly when I return, but expensive bits (like if someone wants a piece of artwork) may need payment in advance. The likelihood of agreeing to such a purchase naturally increases with how well I know you!
Second, DO NOT send me a private message detailing what you would like, post it HERE in this thread. Makes it a lot easier for me to collate, and if you change your mind along the way, you can just edit your post. This list will be considered CLOSED on the day I leave for the US (10th July) and that will be the shopping list I adhere to (unless there are any last minute unavoidable changes in plan, for better or worse).
I am not just limited to Usagi, if there are TMNT or Mouse Guard items you would like, I can try to purchase those as well, as I will be making beelines for anyone associated with Mirage, and David Petersen during the show.
If you arrange with Stan for him to bring something specific that won't normally be sold per seen on his stand, please note that in your post so I can make sure he gives me it when I see him.

Re: What to buy - Return to San Diego
Hi Mayhem, good to hear you'll make it to SDCC this year; I'd like to have a # 27 HC, two new sketch books and a Mouse Guard sketch book, if available. And if there were UY and/or Mouse Guard prints, then one of each as well.....
Thank you very much in advance!

I wish I were closer to the UK, but alas Australia isn't close to much.

Geez, Mayhem, if no one else is going to make any requests... I could always use a hand in getting a copy of the newest Usagi sketchbook and any new Usagi or 47 Ronin print or signing card that might be available at SDCC.

Re: What to buy - Return to San Diego
Now, I will stress this thread is normally for Europe Dojo members, because the postage costs will not be so great for me to ship from the UK to them. If you don't want to wait Steve, until Stan offers up the newest sketchbook on the Dojo for people to order from him (although given Sharon's status currently, I certainly don't blame him if he decides he doesn't have the time for it this year), then I can certainly pick up another copy and mail it back over the pond to you.

Re: What to buy - Return to San Diego
Hi Mayhem, if the offer is still open would you be able to pick me up a B/W cover and / or a painted cover and then either post to Germany or the UK (I can pick up when visiting my parents)? Also any new prints of Usagi or 47 Ronin?
As you do not know me I am very happy to transfer money in advance
Many Thanks
Dave

Re: What to buy - Return to San Diego
Sadly, I'm probably not going to be able to pick up an item as expensive as a cover or painted art such as that at this late stage of arrangement. Not because I'm not willing to, but I've already got all my US dollars exchanged, and I've budgeted for what I'm paying in cash compared to credit card. I believe Stan only transacts in cash for example. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to accommodate another $800+ in cash out of my finances.
If there are any smaller priced items such as prints available, I'd certainly be able to get those. PM me your email address so I have a more direct line of comms should I get something for you.

Re: What to buy - Return to San Diego
Dark Horse just posted their signing schedule for SDCC13
http://majorspoilers.com/2013/07/11/sdc ... -schedule/
Pretty neat that Kozuo Koike of Lone Wolf & Cub will be having multiple signing sessions on Thursday and Friday.
Also, Stan Sakai and Mike Richardson will be having a signing for 47 Ronin on Sunday.
Sure would be neat to get an issue of 47 Ronin signed by all three of them.....

Not sure if it will be possible with my schedule, but we'll see... depends on how big the lines are for Kozuo...

Hey Mayhem, just saw this. Welcome back to San Diego Comic Con. I will look for you (maybe at the Groo Panel as usual).
