The way I understood is that there is only one printing of the interior story pages, but two printings of the cover.
Back in 1984, Steve Gallacci had the funds to print 2000 copies of the black and white interiors, but only enough to print 500 color covers. Once those were sold, he had the capital to print the remaining 1500 covers, all on very heavy stock. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the covers for the second batch was printed with a lighter shade of red. I think it was intentional, because Steve did a lot of cover variations for the Albedo #0 prototype.
Steve's original plan was to silk screen the covers for Albedo #2, the one with Usagi on the cover. I think it was to have been a 6 or 7 screen print, all hand done. He screened a few, then decided it was too much work (which it was), and stopped. I've got a few of those prints, though not with all the colors.
Incidentally, Albedo #1 featured the first appearance of Nilson Groundthumper and Hermy. After more than 20 years, the pair will return in a short story in Dark Horse Presents, then in a full color, collected edition from Dark Horse in 2014.

Dear Sensei Sakai,
Thank you very much for the insight into the covers.
The partial silk screened prints must look like modern art?
Predicted release of the new Nilson Groundthumper story:
Dark Horse Presents #30 November 20 2013

I posted this photo once, when I asked about them a few years ago. But here is one of the silkscreens with quite a few colors in it.
