Today, after buying "designing with web standards" by Jeffrey Zeldman, I took another shot at adding a valid DOCTYPE (and thus bringing W3C compliant browsers into standard compliant mode instead of the old "Quirks" mode) and could finally sort out most of the problems. Only Konqi refuses to display a table at 100% width in this mode but Mozilla 1.4 and MIES 6.0 liked it. And hopefully, after all this work, so will you.

If you wonder why you have missed many of the previous updates to the news, well, I wanted to make sure that things actually do work before wasting your and my time with bug reports, so I created a shadow site where the people involved in the site administration and design could have a look. Now that things have stabilized, I've switched back.

But the web being what it is, you might still run into problems displaying our site. To make it easier to find these problems, please have a look at How it should look which contains screen shots how the UYD is supposed to look (these were taken with Konqueror but I checked them against MIES, too). If what you see differs a lot from what these screenshots show, contact me and I'll see what I can do.

ziritrion finished the Frequently Asked Questions pages and I finished the UY Volume 2, published by Mirage Publishing. In the process, some lost fan artwork was recovered and added to the Fan Art page.

Fan Art is working again and some internal bugs have been fixed.

All synopses and comics in UY Volume 1 have been converted from the old UYD. Also, I've created a reference page which has example images how the UYD is supposed to look.

So if you see something weird on your screen, check it against the reference images and send me a screenshot.
