Welcome to the Official Usagi Yojimbo Action Figure Website. Unfortunately the Usagi action figure line has been officially discontinued. This means there will be no further action figures from AP Toys or Dark Horse (not even one of Tomoe!). Stan Sakai had the following to say:
"As far as I know, Antarctic has gotten out of the action figure business. The entire "small-run" action figure market has pretty much died out with oversaturation especially with the "good-girl" -type figures. Darkhorse has also pulled out of that market after only releasing a few figures. I haven't been approached by any other company interested in an Usagi figure."
Yes, there is a new UY action figure, but this time, he actually looks like Usagi! That's because Stan "Sensei" Sakai himself designed it. He also designed the backing card, as well as the Spot figure. And no, it will not be a part of the Warrior Nun toyline.

The UY Figure Ad
UYD-Daimyo Glenn Masuda brings news from Gary's CBS and directly from the proprietor, Nishimura-san, who quotes Sakai-sensei! He reports three items, all having to do with the UY action figures:
First (and this confirms what we had already suspected) the UY action figure will be delayed till October of this year (1998).
Second, there will be a Dark Horse Comics variant of the action figure! Usagi will be dressed in black! This item is a "dealer only" option, and will only be sold to dealers per every 15 action figures they order!! What a concept (To make more money that is.....)
Third, (and this is only a very early rumor, but one that you will appreciate) contrary to what is listed on the Independent Toy Newswire webpage, Gennosuke is not the front runner for the next action figure! Stan is hinting that he is pushing for...........yes, Tomoe Ame! With a small Lord Noriyuki companion figure!!

Usagi Yojimbo Action Figure
($10.95 US Suggested Retail Price, $6.00 net price to distributors) Antarctic Press presents the Japanese rabbit warrior from the long-running, Eisner Award-winning series published by Dark Horse Comics. Designed by creator Stan Sakai, this action figure has seven points of articulation, comes with his lizard side-kick "Spot", plus a sword and a spear. Produced for the comic book direct market, this action figure is packaged on a blister-card, with the production run based on initial orders. Antarctic Press action figures conform to all testing and safety standards necessary for sale in Europe and Japan. Ships to comic stores the second week of June.
Usagi Yojimbo Action Figure - Case of 6 Figures
($30.00 net price to distributors) Each marked case contains five regular action figures, plus a special variant figure that is ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE CASE - nowhere else! Usagi Yojimbo is dressed in a different battle uniform, the special variant figure is mounted on a different backing card, and contains a GLOW IN THE DARK "Spot" lizard character. This variant is different from the platinum variant listed below. Note that you will get SIX action figures for the price of FIVE.
Usagi Yojimbo Action Figure - Platinum Variant
($14.95 US Suggested Retail Price, $8.00 net price to distributors) Exclusive to direct-market retail stores only, this special edition figure can only be ordered here and the production run will be limited strictly to initial orders. The platinum variant features Usagi Yojimbo dressed in an all-platinum uniform, and is mounted on a different backing card, and each figure is numbered on the front of the card. This variant is different from the variant available in the case.
