This eight-page story opens with a very young Usagi and his sensei Katsuichi
on the way to Usagi's first fencing tournament. They enter the crowded town,
and Usagi runs ahead excitedly to find the tournament field. Not watching
where he is going, he bumps into a girl carrying a bokken (wooden sword)
similar to the one he is carrying, and they both fall to the ground. They begin
to argue as an amused crowed and silent Katsuichi looks on. Eventually the
argument escalates into a duel with the bokken, and the girl eventually knocks
Usagi to the ground, leaving him with a bump on his head. The girl leaves in a
huff, and Usagi is left stunned at the loss. After some admonishing words,
Katsuichi tells a disappointed Usagi it is time to leave, that he has
"experienced enough for one day." Usagi resolves "someday I'll show her!"
The girl is revealed to be, of course, Tomei. In the future, we see neither of
them connect the other with the event many years past.
