Trapped in Oda's dungeon, Only Gen nose how to get them out (sorry), and get them out he does. Rescuing Lady Asano along the way, all goes smoothly - Usagi retrieves his blades and Gen finds a pair that he likes better than his old ones and it seems they will effect their escape - that is until Lady Asano slips away to find Oda.

It does not take long for the guards to be roused, and Gen bursts in on Oda in time to see him cut down the old woman. The small amount of loyalty that still courses through his veins is ignited and he cuts his way through Oda's retainers. Lady Asano, kept alive it seems only by the desire for revenge stabs Oda, then persues him as Gen is kept occupied by the retainers. Finishing the last of them, Gen sees the corpse of Lady Asano crumpled over that of Oda; Her twenty year mission accomplished.

Later, at Lady Asano's gravesite, Gen discovers the bladeshe aquired from Oda's residence are none other than those of his father. Knowing there is only one way those blades could have been taken by Oda, Usagi gives Gen the time and space that he needs.

Later still, at the inn, a package arrives for Gen - his bounty for the bandit that he killed days previous. Usagi discovers that his best friend is still just Gen.
