A Tournament. Open to all schools and hosted by the dogora school of fencing. Katsuichi strides in with his pupil to enter, despite the attempts by some of the schools instructors to censor them. The winner of the tournament is to be presented daisho by the daimyo of the province - Lord Mifune.

Usagi progresses unbeaten through the tournament, as does his old 'friend' Kenichi. Eventually, the match comes down to the two of them. Usagi defeats Kenichi in a stunning display of military skill, causing loss of face for both the Dogora school of fencing and Kenichi himself. Usagi then kneels before the Daimyo Mifune and receives his blades.
