That's a good question, Scott. Did Inazuma go against the path of her karma by running off with Hisashi, or was it her fate to become an outlaw (and now, possessed by Jei)? Her life cerainly wouldn't have been so chaotic if she had married. In any case, she's a great tragic figure.
