: Do you have any suggestions?
1. days, months, year in kanji as well as japanese words for each i.e. one, ichi...
2. births and deaths of important people in the arts who helped bring samurai culture to the world i.e. Akira Kurasawa, Ejii Yoshikawa, Toshiro Mifune, Stan Sakai, creators of Lone Wolf, etc.
3. still significant traditional japanese holidays, festivals, and solar/lunar dates (equinox, solstice, etc.)Festivals would have to be limited because of the extremely numerous regional festivals.
4. maybe the original release dates of selected samurai films i.e. Seven Samura, Miyamoto Musashi Samurai Trilogy, Yojimbo, etc.
5. maybe a text history of the tradional Japanese calender which was in use in the early 1600's.
Sorry, this is just off the top of my head... I have been hoping this question would come up at some point. If interested in a preliminary list of some of these dates, let me know... I've managed to compile quite a few
