Wow, issue 60 was pretty good, altho I don't know that I would really stand it up alone, since it's really the culmination of everything that came before. One question I have for Stan tho.
While reading #60, I got the feel that Koji "threw" the fight. Either because his life had been dedicated to this duel, and maybe he realized they were equal, or else because he saw what Katsuichi meant to those around him. I was really struck by the fact that he gave his swords to Jotaro (a VERY interesting touch), but mainly because he asked Usagi to do that for him, to me, it was almost a "when I lose..." moment, at that point, no matter what happened to Katsuichi, I expected Koji to die. Was there any element of that in there? Or is that just me ascribing a martyr syndrome to the characters. ;P
The other thing that really stood out to me was Koji's comment to Usagi about death. It REALLY is too bad that Koji could not be satisfied as an instructor, he really did make a good sensei. It would have been very interesting if Koji had met the sickly general (whose name escapes me at the moment) that Usagi met long ago, or General Ikeda. Maybe he will meet them in the next life.
