: The first thing I noticed was that the issue looked more "cheap". I've compared it to the last ones but I couldn't really put my finger on it until I compared it to one of the books. Ok, the paper is grey and not white but also the lines are less exact and much thinner. It looks "sloppy" to me and I always admired Stan for his clean and precise strokes.
For the most part, the paper in the books have been of higher quality than that of the comics. As for the thinner lines...well, I started using my new pen half-way through UY 53 and, as I previously said, it'll take about a year to fully break it in.
: For the first sentence I thought: "Usagi found Kusanagi. Doesn't that make him tenno?"
Usagi can not be emperor. Emperors of Japan trace their lineage directly to Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess. I've never developed Usagi's family tree but I'm sure it does not trace its roots to her.
: And the last thing which I didn't see anywhere else, yet: "I know a priest who was once a warrior" said Katsuichi. Sounds familiar? :-) I'd put my bets on Sanshobo which would prove again that the world is quite small.
We'll see. Actually, many samurai cut off their topknot and turned to the priesthood upon retirement. Many samurai followed Buddhism, particularly the Zen sect.
: I wonder if Katsuichi will play a role in GC 3...
He could. But that story won't be for quite a few more years.
