Nilson Groundthumper and Usagi Yojimbo Crossover Page

Welcome to the Nilson and Usagi crossover page! There are no plans for a meeting yet (Usagi may team-up with Sergio Aragones's Catnippon first), but it's in the prototype stages and will happen... one day!

Stan told us about how he would handle the language barrier between the characters, as this will be an in-continuity story. As you all know, Usagi lives in Japan, and Nilson and Hermy live somewhere in Europe. It's not clear whether they live in the same time, but that's really not that important. The secret to the language barrier is Hermy. Yes, Hermy. Stan tells me that Hermy possesses all these unusual secrets that really haven't been fully explored yet. The basic idea is that Hermy aquires some kind of special ability from a wizard's book of sorcery which enables him to act in such a way that he is able to communicate to Usagi. He does not become an interpretor, but rather a "tool" to speak through. In other words, Nilson will be able to go through Hermy to reach Usagi. I guess it can be described similarly to Star Trek's "universal translator", but not quite as sci-fi oriented.
