I've always wanted to read 'The Lost World'. I'll have to add it to the list! I just finished 'O' Artful Death' by Sarah Stewart Taylor and I'm now reading 'A Wild Sheep Chase' by Haruki Murakami. I highly recommend both! I hear Murakami's book 'The Wind Up Bird Chronicle' is really great as well...

hey andy, your lettering is looking good! I've recently discovered the 'B' and 'C' family of nibs are great for lettering! ...mostly I use the good ol' Deleter G-nib.

Another recent lettering discovery, Todd Klein's blog:

Female Heroes and Villains in the Prints of Utagawa Kuniyosh

I'm going to be in Boston this weekend and thought I'd check out the Boston art museum website to see what's going on. As luck would have it there is a show up of Utagawa Kuniyosh prints! The sample of the body of work on display just happens to feature Tomoe Gozen! If my memory serves me correctly ...

Shogun assassin was really good even though they chopped up two movies and added the kid's voiceover to make it. I recently saw Hidden Fortress which was really great. Also Kagemusha is really worth seeing.

Hidden Fortress might be O.K. for younger viewers but not the other two for sure.

No, he didn't mention that at all, that's amazing! He was very humble and actually talked more about the work of others, during the lecture, than his own. I can't wait to read his stuff.

hey guys sorry to dredge up an old tread but I've recently found some really cool anthro comics! Jay Holser came to my school and presented an amazing lecture! http://www.jayhosler.com/ His comics are really great and definitely worth checking out. 'Clan Apis' is a scientifically accurate account of...

if you want to make multiples I'd recommend using an oil based clay (it won't dry out while you're making your original) and pouring a plaster mold (plaster is cheap at the hardware store!) and then press clay (regular clay this time) into the mold hollow out and connect the two halves and you're do...

I agree with shaxper, Usagi should win...but Groo would probably just knock over some stuff and it'll fall on Usagi, knocking him out.

How do you guys feel about Shirow? I'm a big big fan of his stuff...my only problem with it is that I can't always take the characters seriously because...what's the best way to say this...they're drawn in such an exploitative way. Does that make any sense to anyone else? Otherwise his concepts are ...
