Don't you just love finding those hidden jems that ordinary people don't even know they have. Wish you did find #2. Definitely. This guy "collected" comic books - meaning he had about 10 long boxes of bagged and boarded comics but he had never read any of them. That is something I ...

A philanthropic member of the board contacted me and offered to send me the missing issues! I am very grateful. I also find that the Fantagraphic books are really expensive...sometimes running $5 or more per issue. I still haven't filled in the entire series. Critter issues with Usagi are off ...

Can't find #'s 18 & 19 of the Fantagraphics series

I've bought these 3 times on ebay, including an "entire" lot that was guaranteed not to be missing any issues, and I've gotten ripped off every time. For some reason I cannot find these issues anywhere. Not online, not ebay, not craigslist, not any of my local shops. I own all other Fantag...

Re: I-Con

I was traveling with a couple of rocket manufacturers. Very interesting. Their next project is sending a satellite into orbit, then people. They're already taking reservations. It's $2 million per person, but if you reserve now it's only $500,000. Unfortunately, people (even huge companies such as ...

There's a great, very visual film called Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring that has a lot of Buddhist symbolism and subtext, but it's Korean, so I don't know if that would disqualify it for you.

What new Lone Wolf and Cub series? I thought the Dark Horse TPBs #1-28 were the complete run, or are you talking about Lone Wolf 2100 or whatever?

I started watching Rashomon last night but the DVD was skipping so badly I had to turn it off. I'll clean it tonight and see if I can get it to play. I'd love to discuss it here if I get to finish it. What I saw of it (the first ~25 mins) was intriguing.

Re: Who watches the watches?

ps. When will "The Watchmen" be a movie (now that V for Vendetta is a movie....)??? Hopefully never. A director with the most noble intentions on Earth couldn't translate Watchmen (not The Watchmen ) into a 2-3 hour feature film, not to mention the stooge who would be hired by a large stu...

Thanks for the reply. So the Mirage books are all collected in Dark Horse TPBs but they're published in Black and White? Also, they have extra stories? All of this is a little bit confusing.

By the way, what does abayo mean?

Thanks!

I'd just like to apologize if I've offended anyone with my opinions on color vs. black and white. That certainly wasn't my intention. o-yurushi-o!

How should I be building my Usagi collection?

Obviously there are pros and cons to having TBPs Vs. Single-Issues and I've resigned myself to the fact that my "complete" UY collection will probably consist of both. In fact, I know it will, because of that damn elusive Albedo #2 :). TPBs are cool because they're more durable, easier to ...

Re: I'm a brand-new Usagi Yojimbo addict

publishing a comic in full colour was incredibly expensive. I imagine that to a lot of people who can't, and may never be able to afford to, getting their story out is what matters. It's a matter of passion, not of belief or lack thereof in one's work. Personally, I believe that if you dismiss a lo...

I'm a brand-new Usagi Yojimbo addict

I remember Usagi Yojimbo from the TMNT cartoons and toys of the late 80s/ early 90s, but I was never particularly involved with the character. For years starting around the mid/late 90s and continuing until recently, my best friend would occasionally mention to me, "You know Usagi Yojimbo is ac...
