Weekly Trivia Challenge: June 1-7
We all know that Stan is working on a short story for the upcoming 65th anniversary of Peanuts book, but did you know that a Peanuts character has already made an appearance with Usagi?
Question 1: Which Peanuts character has made a special appearance with Usagi and where can we find it?
and while we're talking about characters in the funny pages, a little easier question might be...
Question 2: Name the story/page/panel where Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes make an appearance?
Take your time looking for the answers. Everyone who answers both questions correctly will be eligible to win. I'll use one of those fancy random number generators to pick a winner.
Please PM me your answers. I'll give clues as needed.

Nice! This is one that I can do if I can find the time to look. I remember seeing the Calvin and Hobbies one but I'm not so sure about Peanuts. Great questions!

Re: Weekly Trivia Challenge: June 1-7
Have you been getting guesses?
I think I figured out the second one early on (still need to confirm), but have been stumped by the first and haven't had time to actually dig for it...

Yup, same with me. I found the second one right off but I have not been able to find the first one at all.maichan wrote:Have you been getting guesses?

The Credit Belongs to the Man Who is Actually in the Arena ....

Very few. Put your thinking caps back on, reread the clues and have fun.maichan wrote:Have you been getting guesses?

No one has even attempted question one. I feel like I've given too many clues already, but the point is for someone to get entered into the monthly drawing.
Re: Weekly Trivia Challenge: June 1-7
You can find it in The Phantom Gallery set. Since this was one of those limited edition sets (6800 boxes) they aren't that easy to find, but when you do they aren't expensive. It's a common card.Lobster Johnson wrote:That Phantom Usagi drawing is awesome!
Or you can buy an unopened box from Australia and pay $30.00 s/h.

I would consider paying that if the autograph cards were actually in the packs instead of being redemption cards. The company is no longer in business so you can't redeem anything.

I won't guess (don't want to risk winning since I've won before and want to give others the chance) ... but what has me stumped is the part where you say:Gaffey wrote: Very few. Put your thinking caps back on, reread the clues and have fun.

You don't have to own any of the comics to spot this "blockhead".
Which to me means it's in some other form of publication...

Re: Weekly Trivia Challenge: June 1-7
Please guess. If someone else gets the correct answer I'll just drop your name from the randomizer if that would make you feel better.maichan wrote:I won't guess (don't want to risk winning since I've won before and want to give others the chance) ... but what has me stumped is the part where you say:

You would be correct. It's publisher is Dark Horse and it is not in comic book (single issue) format. Anybody with access to the internet can find the answer to question 1. You don't have to own any Usagi books to find the answer.maichan wrote:Gaffey wrote:You don't have to own any of the comics to spot this "blockhead".

Re: Weekly Trivia Challenge: June 1-7
It's come to my attention that I may have made the clues a little confusing. I thought I was being clever. I'll explain each one.
Question 1: Which Peanuts character has made a special appearance with Usagi and where can we find it? I never said it was in a comic/tpb/hardcover, etc.
*Dark Horse
Dark Horse published the image
*You don't have to own any of the comics to spot this "blockhead".
This was my attempt at a joke. "Blockhead" is one of his nicknames and also his appearance.
*This character may look a little different than you're used to. See above.

There are multiple clues in the picture above. The character, the weather and both comics were originally drawn in B&W, but can be found in color.
Anybody with access to the internet can find the answer to question 1.
