Weekly Trivia Contest 21-28 December

Post by Mayhem »

Okay, it's Christmas time, yadda yadda heh... so here's a fairly easy one (in my eyes) to keep you going over the festive period.

Shinto and Buddhism are the two main religions in Japan, so few people celebrate Christmas in the country. This week's question is, give me the issue number (or story name) of the one time Usagi would have encountered something related to said religious festival now.

And yeah, please PM me your answer ;)

Okay, I've had ONE answer so far sent to me, come on people! ;)

(thankfully it was also correct, and thus I won't be left saying no one got it right!)

PM sent.
One of the benefits of having UY in digital format is I can look up answers to these trivia questions anywhere. One of the disadvantages is it is time consuming if I don't know where to look. It is much easier to flip through a physical comic or graphic novel than "flipping though" panels/pages on a phone. :)

Fortunately, I had just read this story in one of the Saga editions, so I have a good idea where to look.

I'm such an UY geek.

Peace, maka

Three answers now... did you work it out Lobster?

I'll be halting the contest at midday PST (8pm UK time)...

I'll try to have my answer in before that. I've been really busy with the holiday and forgot to check! I do know what story it is and where to find it, though (I think).

I'm pretty sure I know where it is, but I'll have to look for the specific story.

Almost forgot to come back to this...!

Christmas is obviously a celebration in the Christian faith of the birth of Lord Jesus Christ (ignoring how it is based upon various pagan festivals). There was a particular story where Usagi encounters Christians in Japan, albeit he doesn't know until the very last panel of the story ( http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii11 ... 8i0koz.jpg ). That story being DH #76 - Contraband.

So the candidates who supplied correct answers are:

1) Trevis Woods
2) Maka
3) Gaffey
4) Lobster Johnson

And after consulting the Book of Armaments, I mean random number generator, the winner is... Lobster Johnson. Congrats! :)
