Weekly Trivia Challenge Feb 8th - 14th

Post by Gaffey »

I don't think the following question has been asked before. If it has then I'll come up with something else.

In which Usagi Yojimbo comic does Usagi not make an appearance?

Please PM me the issue number or story. One guess per person.

I'll use the random number generator to pick a winner.

EDIT: I should have done a little more research before asking this week's question. I've found three Usagi free issues so far.

All you have to do is give me one of the issues. Easy Peasy.

I've received two correct answers.

Reminder: All you have to do is give me one of the comics to be entered into this week's contest.

4 correct answers. Keep them coming. There are multiple issues to choose from.

You only need one correct answer to be entered into this week's contest.

Oh boy did I mess this up. I should have stated I was looking for issues based solely on supporting characters, but it's too late for that.

There's at least 5 issues of Usagi Yojimbo where Usagi is nowhere to be found. My goof is your gain.

6 correct answers by the way.

First off, my apologies for this week’s question. I was looking for issues that only featured supporting characters. However, I did not specify that so I accepted just about anything.

This week's winner is #5. Check the list to see if you’ve won. :P

Image

1 - JLM
2 - Lobster Johnson
3 - Eltanin
4 - Trevis Woods
5 - maka
6 - Mayhem
7 - Steve Hubbell
8 - Jubei

Some of the issues I would have accepted:

Issue #13 - Grasscutter Prologue
Issue #14 - Grasscutter Prologue
Issue #39 - Grasscutter 2: Journey to Atsuta Shrine - Prologue
Issue #48 - Escape!
Issue #52 - Kitsune's Tale
Issue #57 - Crows part 1
Issue #71 - Bells
Issue #77 - After the Rat (the Inspector Clouseau picture above was a hint. Probably should have gone with Inspector Gadget for the younger crowd)
Issue #79 - Dreams and Nightmares/Gen and the Dog
Issue #81 - Into The Mist/Nocturnal
Issue #83 - The Treasure of the Mother of Mountains
Issue #98 - Return of the Black Soul

I had to flip through the collections so it’s possible I missed a few. Trying to figure out when one full issue ended and another began became tedious.

FUN FACT: After the Rat was the most popular answer. Nobody guessed that AFTER I posted the clue. :(

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

I didn't think of this until now, but another answer that would work is "The Outlaw" (I think it's called that), towards the end of vol. 25. That one has Gen, Stray Dog, and the woodcutters, but no Usagi.
Congratulations Maka!

Well, he does appear on the cover of issue #116. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Actually, I probably saw Usagi on the last page of The Fortress and didn't even notice The Outlaw started on the next page. Good catch.

I missed reading one of the stories by a week! In my current reading, I'm in tpb 24 and just finished Jei's origin story, The Darkness and the Soul. Looking back at your list, I didn't realize there were so many issues without Usagi.
