March Trivia Prize Pack

Post by jabba359 »

Sorry for the late post. It's time for another trivia prize pack!

Rules update: Participants can win two months in a row, but for the sake of spreading the love, any weekly wins on the third month will not count as an entry into the monthly prize pack. Back to back wins have only happened twice in the two years I've been running this, so winning three months in a row would have been possible, but unlikely. This just ensures that outcome is avoided. Thanks for understanding.

As always, thanks to Stan for all the items he has donated for these giveaways. They wouldn't be possible without his generosity. Special thanks to Gaffey for donating the Dantes Verlag items included in this month's prize pack. More thanks goes out to all the artists who have been kind enough to provide original sketches for the sketch cards. Finally, thanks to all of you for participating and making this a great forum.

So, how does one win a prize pack? Here's how:

*Participate in the weekly trivia as you normally do.
*The winner or winners (if more than one) of the weekly trivia will be entered into the monthly prize drawing. If you win a weekly trivia question and don't want to be entered into the prize giveaway, just PM me and I'll exclude you from the randomizer at the end of the month.
*The winners of the trivia that ends during the prize month are eligible (for example, if a weekly trivia ends on April 30th, you qualify for April's prize pack, if it ends May 1st, you'd be in May's drawing).
*As people win the weekly trivia contests, I'll update the list of all the winners (in the order they won) and then use a random number generator (https://www.random.org/) to select the Prize Pack winner.
*I will announce in this thread who the prize pack winner is and contact them via PM for shipping info. International participants are welcome to play along.
*These rules are subject to change on subsequent months if there are bugs to work out.

For the month of March Madness, here's what's up for grabs (remember, if it's signed in the picture, then the item you receive will be signed as well). Items are not to scale :D :

About the artist - This month's original Dojo sketch card is by Wil Panganiban. Wil is the creator of comic Frank & Steinway, which chronicles the lives of Frank (Dracula) and overweight Steinway (Frankenstein's monster), two friends who move into an apartment together after losing their jobs in the economic downturn. Formerly a web comic (also available in limited print runs), Frank & Steinway is currently in syndication in several newspapers. Besides his comic strip, Wil is planning an animated version of his comic and contributed to The Sakai Project (page 23). You can read Frank & Steinway on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FrankandSteinway/.

March entries:
1. Gaffey
2. Steve Hubbell
3. Gaffey
4. Trevis Woods

Great prize pack. Good luck to all!

My daughter loved Frank and Steinway when she read the collection. We stopped at his table at LBCC and he signed a poster when we picked up the book. That poster is on the her wall. :)

Peace, maka

I really enjoy his comic strip and wish more people knew about it. Since I also ran into employment issues when the economy tanked, the strip really resonated with me, seeing as how Frank and Steinway found themselves in an equally unemployed situation (note to self: don't turn in 4-week notice a couple weeks before the stock market crashes and everybody suddenly stops hiring ). Wil is also a super nice guy and I like to see those kinds of people succeed, so would love for him to enjoy the success of his labors.
