Usag Trivia "Who wrote this?" February 20 - 27th

The problem with winning the trivia contest is that you have to come up with a new and unique question. I used all my pre-thought trivia questions in the years we have been doing this. So here's one that might be easy or hard, depending on how detail oriented you are. And if you don't have a clue, just PM me "this sucks" and I'll enter you into the random drawing. Everyone has a chance of winning this round!
PM the name of the person who wrote this, "In his novel Shogun, James Clavell gave Westerners an insight and understanding of Japanese history and philosophies. It also took him over a thousand pages of fine print to do it. . . using a Western viewpoint character at that. Stan does the same thing in 28-page segments. His characters are characters first, with clear and well-defined personalities and foibles, and their images grow naturally from those concepts."
Good luck! Peace, maka

I don't know the answer off the top of my head, but I at least have a good idea where I should be looking this time.

I'm trying to find the actual answer before sending "this sucks"

The correct answer is Robert Asprin from the introduction to Usagi Yojimbo book 3.

Flip of quarter
Trevis won with heads!
Congratulations, Trevis! You have the next trivia question.
Thanks for playing!

Congrats Trevis. When people can't be bothered to type "this sucks" then you know you're in trouble.
It kind of stinks because I had purchased some posters from Croatia to give away and now they are just sitting under my bed.
*Yes, I'm fully aware of my unhealthy obsession with the Trivia section.

I attempted to find the answer, but I don't have the first seven trade paperbacks (I bought the Special Edition instead). I even looked at the bookstore, but they only had the Sagas and book 1. So I knew the answer was probably somewhere in books 2-7, just not which one.
Maybe I'll make a mention on the Facebook page to check out the trivia section over here to see if we can't increase the participation.

I typed "James Clavell Usagi Yojimbo" into Google and the answer was the 4th entry down.
If you clicked the link it showed who wrote it.
