Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard

Hi all,

Sorry I've been absent for quite some time. Wish I could say it's been because of fun things, but well, 2020 happened.

Anyway, in my spare time, I do enjoy quizzing & quiz creation. So, I thought I'd put together a clickable Usagi Yojimbo character quiz.

It's my first click-able quiz, so it's a little rough & ready.I'd love any feedback, positive or negative. I think I've gotten everyone's name spelt correctly. I know it'll be very easy, especially for such knowledgeable & dedicated fans, but needed to start somewhere.

I'd love to do a much grander quiz for even more Usagi characters. But I'm not aware of any other big full colour poster-esque scenes, except for the kite-flying one. And sadly, that's too big for the host's website. So, I'll have to photograph some pages, cut the character out on Paint or Photoshop, and then assemble them together. I think it'll be a black and white quiz, as there's probably a lot more characters I can use there. I can have up to 300(!) answers. Anyway, we'll see how it all pans out. Might never get round to it if 2020 problems keep on happening the way they have been!

That is a fun little quiz, a bit on the easy side.

I wonder how difficult these are to make, it would be neat to see one made with the Usagi Kite Festival poster, a lot more characters are included on it, including several more obscure characters.

Is it possible to share this on the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo Facebook page and the Usagi Yojimbo Facebook Group page?

Figured it'd be easy for you or anyone who visits here. After all, you're all pros!

If you've got the image - it's really easy to make a clickable quiz - this is my first attempt at such a quiz & only took me about an hour or so.
Just upload the image, add in the text answers (the bit at the top that ends up saying click "Usagi"), then draw shapes onto the image & match them up to your answers. Even easier than it sounds.
If you ever want to do one yourself, my main advice would be start drawing the characters from the back & work forwards. Much easier than working from the front-to-back (as I found out...).

I've made one tiny change based on other feedback, which is the names now appear after you've clicked - whether you're right or wrong.

EDIT: So, I bumped into a better Kite Festival Image in the "Bibliography" forum page. Sorry to say it won't work - it's too long. If I scale it down to scale, then characters in the background are quite small & would be annoying to click. Trying to make it less rectangular (by stretching) results in the characters looking freakishly tall.
I'll see about cutting it in half, maybe do a Part 1 & Part 2 for the kite poster. But it'll have to wait until I'm free again. Back to work tomorrow.

YES!! I did this also, right after you posted about it. It was fun! It's great that we can have fun stuff like this for the Dojo! Thanks for making the quiz.
