I sent in the art for UY #150, Death of a Tea Master, in which Usagi meets his first European. Here is a step-by-step of one of the panels.
Thumbnails of page 20 on typing paper.
I will concentrate on the third panel. The entire page is 11x17 inches with a 10x15 inch image area.
Rough pencils and lettering on 2-ply 500 series Strathmore Bristol, cold press.
Drawn with a 2H 3mm mechanical pencil, a really hard lead.
The lettering was done with an Aames Lettering Guide set at 3.25 and Rotring Sketch Pens M and B. Word balloons were drawn with a Koh-i-Noor Art Pen.
Finished pencils with HB lead.
Inks with Koh-i-Noor Art Pen and Badger Black Opaque ink (old formula).
