An announcement
I've set up a fan club for Usagi Yjimbo at Deviant art.com!
http://usagi-yojimbo-club.deviantart.com/
There isn't a proper icon or an ID yet, but it's something for now ^^;
Here's hoping that we get alot of members joining, soon.
Abayo!

Great idea.
There are a lot of Usagi fans who maintain Deviant Art pages for displaying their own art, as well as posting their Usagi fan art there.

I almost posted the Usagi Chibo pic with my first reply.
There are so many cool fan art pics over there on Deviant Art, it is hard to pick a favorite one.

This picture was made by using only ink.
This chracter was originally created by Stan Sakai.

Someone else made that picture, not anyone from the club. It's listed under our Favourites because it's so cool, though ^^;
Yeah, DA is full of UY lovers so I figured "Why not set up a fan club?" ;p
I'm just hoping to get more people to join, but I might have to try harder in order to raise awareness that the club exists (as well as interests ><)
Wish me luck, everyone!

Yup! *hugz* Welcome aboard!Usagi wrote:I just joind
The first deviation that's hopefully going to come is by Scribblesartist at DA. To have a taste of some of his art, check out his gallery as well as this BRILLIANT tmnt pic that he worked on with his friends http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/28113953/
It made me even more excited when he told me to wait and see the UY pic he has in store for the club!

Another thing: I'm thinking about providing a link to the forums here in the club's journal, but I'm not sure whether that would be wise because of some the spammer accounts we've recently had here. What do you guys think: should I offer members a chance to check out the forums or not (in case of any more potential spamming)?

Providing a link to the DojoBoard forums shouldn't cause any problems from spammers since everyone visiting is required to register to read or post to the Dojo forums.
You might want to mention that registering is required along with the link.

Done it. Plus I've added a bit of a warning to anyone from the fan club if they spam or flame at the forums (hopefully none of that will actually happen...)
Hsincubic's one of THE best tmnt fan-artists at DA; so I might see if she's interested in joining ;D

Final question!
With the permission of the UY dojo staff and (hopefully) Stan, I'm planning to post up some news and updates for members who aren't registered at this forum (be it lack of interest or any other reason...)
Can I have permission to post up news about Stan's appearances/tours at conventions, as well as links to photos taken at these conventions and such?

Just wanted to mention that the Usagi Yojimbo Email Newsletter Mailing List (UY Dojo Newsletter) and The Official Usagi Yojimbo E-Mail Discussion List (UY Dojogroup) are two totally seperate and independent mailing lists and both need to be registered for seperately.
I believe the main differance is that the Newsletter consists of outgoing correspondence from the Dojo by email to members or subscribers only. The Dojo Group is a mailing list where subscribers can contribute to or initiate discussions via email.

For anyone interested; there is an official Usagi Yojimbo Newsletter mailing list!
[link]
As with any mailing list; just type in your email address and click the button to join. Although it allows for UY discussion like the forums; the plus side is that you may even get to find out tidbits of information about upcoming issues of Usagi Yojimbo as well as plans for future merchandise (such as Albedo t-shirts )
Remember: keep the discussion civil, and have fun!
