Usagi Yojimbo and Japanese Armour

Post by Steve Hubbell »

An interesting site which might be of interest:
the Royal Armouries web-site wrote:USAGI YOJIMBO AND JAPANESE ARMOUR

Find out about Japanese Armour, using this trail in the Oriental Gallery in Leeds.

Or download our Word Version of the Trail here (487Kb).

The Education centre wishes to thank the American Author Stan Sakai for his generous permission to use the character rabbit Usagi Yojimbo, in this 'learning through literacy' Easter Trail.

Happy Holiday and Happy Hanami, too!

They had asked permission to use Usagi as one of their educational tools quite a long time ago. I pretty much forgot about it.

It's nice to see they actually went ahead with it. Looks good.

Here is a Dark Horse News Release concerning the web-site:
Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo Becomes Learning Tool in British Museum 4/24/06

Stan Sakai's beloved samurai rabbit, Usagi Yojimbo, has recently become one of the latest learning tools at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, England. Devoted to spreading an appreciation for the arms and armor of the world, Usagi Yojimbo was selected by the Museum to explain traditional Japanese samurai attire to patrons of all ages. As a highlighted character of the "Learning Through Literacy" Easter Trail exhibit, Usagi Yojimbo's appearance is explained in detail - from his long, tied ears to the small emblem on his kimono. You can see the online version of the exhibit here. (sorry, link is broken)
