Does anyone know who these characters are supposed to be?
The tall guy in the back looks like Neil Gaiman's Sandman and the girl has a peanuts look. Family Circus, For Better or For Worse? I have no guess for the noodle fellow.
This is what happens on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

Akiko!!!!
http://www.markcrilley.com/pages/1/index.htm
Mark Crilley-- children's book-- Akiko is this girl who is swept up into space for an adventure and such! It's a comic/graphic novel/novel!
Spuckler Boach is the man-- a type of Han Solo dude, has one leg--, Mr. Beeba is the guy eating the noodles-- I don't see Gax....
I lost what few Akiko books I had to some adventuresome fourth graders, and for some dumb reason I've never gotten around to replacing them!

You can see Poog, the floating alien head, on Akiko's kimono pattern.

Only Gax is missing... unless I'm not looking close enough!
