Did "Superman Returns" leave anyone else thinking

Post by shaxper »

I never expected it. Usagi and Superman are not two characters that I normally associate with one another, but the end of Superman Returns leaves you with an unresolved issue that I won't spoil here. All I say is that it reminded me of something that happened to Usagi, and left me wondering whether the Superman films to come will take a similar direction. Normally, this sort of plot device spells disaster for any long-running franchise, but Usagi was the first to handle it well, and I wonder if Superman will be the second. The funny part is, I've loved Superman since before I was old enough to talk. He was my first hero. I even wore the pajamas with the cape. But, seeing him resemble Usagi made me love him all the more. I can't wait to see whether Supes will prove to be as thoroughly lovable as Usagi was when he faced a similar trial...

...And, for those of you who saw the movie and aren't sure, yes I am talking about spoilerspoilerspoilerspoilerjotorospoilerspoilerspoilerspoiler

I totally thought the exact same thing. I was left thinking they ripped the idea off Usagi Yojimbo...good execution though...

Overall, the movie was OK. Nothing over the top. I give it a B. I saw the IMAX 3D version too.

I was thinking that throughout the entire movie. It's the first time I've ever compared the two characters also....
