Can anyone tell me the difference between Hard Cover Editions of Usagi and Trades? Do the HCE's have more artwork?
I am an aspiring cartoonist and wish to afford the Trades, which I have yet to buy until I can resolve my debt. Hopefully all volumes will still be in print by then...I may just have to pick them up at my local library.
I am going to follow Sensei's style, I must master it.
What's the difference?!?

Hareblade, The HC editions are signed and numbered, under the dust jacket the cover is beautifully embossed. The endpapers have art in them. Book 4 had "Return to Adachigahara Plain" beautifully done as a water color. The HC editions to me are more permanent and lasting as is any hard cover book. I also have all the trades in paper back for frequent rereading and reference. Unfortunately I'm missing a couple HC editions because at one time I was on a tight budget but now im kicking myself for not obtaining them when I had the chance. I would love to see in the future a deluxe collection perhaps maybe 4 HC editions in a set, kind of like The Carl Barks Library.

So you're telling me there is a chance!?!
So, if I get the Trades the end papers will not be in them, only EP's are in the HCE's? A collection compiled would be cool!!!

That is the nature of most, if not all, hard cover books--they have endpapers. We chose to illustrate the ones in the Usagi books. Some of the endpapers have been reprinted in The Art of UY and in the sketchbooks.Hareblade wrote:So, if I get the Trades the end papers will not be in them, only EP's are in the HCE's?
