"Steampunk" UY spinoff

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

I was just thinking a minute ago that a "steampunk"/alternate history spinoff of UY somewhat similar to Space Usagi would be a lot of fun. It could be set in kind of a sci-fi version of 19th century Japan sort of like the alternate 19th century England featured in Katsuhiro Otomo's Steamboy or Alan Moore and Kevin O' Neill's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Maybe Usagi's great-great-grandson could be the protagonist. (How many generations would there be between 1600 and 1850 or so?)

Of course, giant steam-powered robots would be a must. :D

I LOVE the tracking shot at about the 2:10 mark in the first part!
