I ask this because you really have a better grasp on conflicted heroes and morality than most writers that I have read. Usagi's conflict between his role as a Samurai and his desire to help everyone and do the moral thing is constantly interesting. It is a concept commonly dealt with in Super Hero books, but without the same level of success IMO.

Also, I hope you don't mind that I keep asking questions on this board. If there is a better way to correspond with you please let me know. Its cool that you write back. Usagi has become my all time favorite comic (and I read a lot of titles), and being able to talk to the creator is incredible.

Thanks for creating a character that is so inspiring.

by the way when I said major super hero I was not insinuating that Usagi is not a MAJOR character, I just wouldn't classify him as a super hero.

I have been asked to write other series, but have always declined even though it would have been much more lucrative. I really enjoy doing the writing and art on Usagi.

I developed a couple of superhero concepts way back in high school and college, but never went beyond doing a few issues worth of art.

I did do a Hulk story for Marvel. I think it will be in their Strange Tales anthology series (maybe the second issue?).

I remember seeing a sketch of Galactus that you once did, and it thoroughly floored me. Is it ever frustrating to work exclusively in the Usagi style?

It would be interesting to see you put out a semi-annual publication like the UY sketchbooks that would feature some of these other concepts and styles -- an outlet for you to explore these other avenues as well as an opportunity for us to see all the other wonderful things floating around in our sensai's mind :)
