NEW ON BOARDS. JUMPED ON WITH YOKAI, HEY GUYS.

Post by James D »

Like I said I'm a new fan and totally in love with this comic. Just to drop by and say hi. I'm gonna be a regular here now so I thought i'd jump in and get to know everyone.
I've gotten Yokai and a bunch of back-issues from my local LCS (119-126)
Love it,
Peace

Welcome aboard, James D;

I know you'll have lots of fun reading all of the trade paper backs. Just in case you've got difficulties finding some of them: they are regularly reprinted, so with a little patience you should be able to buy all of them. And don't be intimidated by the sheer number, you'll be surprised how fast you'll catch up. And when you've finished them, you'll hunger for more, like most of us, eagerly waiting for the next book to hit the stores... :D

Book 1-7 are going to be released as a special two volume "omnibus" early next year (i think); a good item for your birthday present wish list, eh?
Greetings from overseas

Thank you very much!
Yeah i'm just addicted already. Its just a wonderful little book and Stan seems like such a humble creator. Oh and I'll get the omnibus but I am going to be collecting it in singles :D harder I know, but its just how I roll. Besides it seems very accessible so for now I'm alright not having everything that has ever come out ever :)

Welcome to the forums, we like Usagi Yojimbo "comic collectors" here! :D (We also like those strange people who just read Usagi as well).

Nice thing about Usagi is that most of the comics are easily available through either local stores or ebay for pretty reasonable prices.

Although a little harder now then when I went for getting all the back issues I needed... still, most are available in various places, and Stan does do "mega bundles" when he has complete sets available.

We don't have many notable Usagi fans in the UK... notable as ones that regularly post here on the Dojo. After me and Chicky... well, it gets a bit thin heh. Still, another addition to the ranks won't be sniffed at ;)

Thank you all very much for the welcome!
Yeah I've been looking it up online and a lot of it looks extremely reasonable and most of the volumes are dirt cheap on Amazon, great stuff! :D
The previews for the next few months look pretty bad-BADWORD too. Red Scorpion Gang!

So far I've only read back issues 119-126 and the graphic novel Yokai but I loved it all and cannot wait to get started on the trades! (Yes, I gave up on the singles crusade cause I wanna catch up quick!) :)

Oh and thanks for the artwork compliment!
