Sketchbook #9
Working on the sketchbook for 2012. I'm doing a new 6-page story, because I want to do a step-by-step look at my creative process. I hope to get this out by early June.
I've given up plans for the watercolor sketchbook, at least for this year. I still plan to do something with the watercolor pieces but do not have the time right now.

Re: Sketchbook #9
Thanks for the update Stan, its always exciting to hear about another sketchbook, whether it is color, B&W, whatever! In fact, we know the watercolors will be published eventually, now we have something new to look forward to!
And a dose of Usagi in June would be very welcome.

Great news about a new Usagi story, and with a look behind the creative process as well. June is going to be slow getting here now that there is something to look forward to.
Will you be offering your limited time sketchbook by mail option again this year?
Conrats on the cool looking award from Stumptown as well!

Re: Sketchbook #9
hi jaijeffray!
first of all, by the look of your low posts counting, let me say welcome to the dojo!
the sketchbooks are usually up for order around the time san diego comic con is near, so june/july if my memmory serves right..each year stan does a new one, so this year we all be getting sb #9, but there is often still a backstock of the older ones(or most of them) so if sb #9 is up for order stan is telling us what other sb he still has...
hope that helped you out, amigo!
greetings
marcel

Very cool. Thanks Marcel.
Actually, I've been a Ronin myself... Oldtimer returning back home.
But thanks for the info. I'll be a regular from now on. Can't wait for the them.
Arigato,
Jeff

Re: Sketchbook #9
I picked up my copies of UY Sketchbook 9 from the printer. Besides the usual sketches and commissions, it has Part 2 of my interview with Usagi, and a step-by-step look at my creative process from plot outline to thumbnails to a new 6-page story. I will, of course, have this as well as most of the other sketchbooks at the San Diego Comic-con. I still have copies of Sketchbooks 2,4,5,6,7, and 8.
As usual, I will offer the sketchbooks for mail order sales to the Dojo group, though not yet. I'm still working pretty far behind on 47 Ronin. I not sure how to handle the foreign sales, though, especially since Mayhem (our usual go-between) will not be attending the Con this year.
I'll let you know when you can order the Sketchbooks (probably next week).

Re: Sketchbook #9
If individual mailing to Europe is an issue for you, Sensei, I'd offer to be kind of a distributor here; meaning you could send all copies destined for European fans to my address to be forwarded to them. I'm sure we can find a way to handle payment via some of our American fans using Paypal...
Hoping to be helpful and looking forward to getting my hands on setchbook 9
