Re: Usagi short film
If I can figure out how to upload a video I may share some footage just for the dojo sometime next week.
We have many plans and yes, one of them is to sell a dvd with proceeds going to help Sharon and Stan. Tentative plan is to have the DVD ready for the 30th anniversary next year.

Re: Usagi short film
I wanted to post the video today but don't know how. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do this. I want this to be an exclusive to the dojo so I don't really want to post this on Facebook or YouTube.

Re: Usagi short film
I'm trying to upload the video via the "upload attachment". Hope it works. It's a small clip of a low res file. This is a rough cut and no post production has happened yet to this clip. Hope you like it.
UPDATE: okay I guess it didn't work. The website doesn't seem to like the "mov" file. Sorry guys. If no one has any advice I guess I won't be able to give you the exclusive I wanted to show.

I don't think the board allows direct attachments. You'll have to host it somewhere yourself I imagine. Or YouTube.

Re: Usagi short film
The only suggestion I can make is hosting the video clip someplace like imageshack and then post the appropriate link to place it here in the forum. I tried to do it with a small video off my cheap digital camera but it would not upload to imageshack at all. I do know that gif animation will work on the forum here when it is hosted at imageshack, beyond that I don't have a clue. (low-tech person here)

Re: Usagi short film

You'll want to have the video set to Private and then be able to share it with Dojo members. Here's what you'd have to do for Youtube:
Hope this helps. If you'd like to share one of your videos with a select and limited audience, you can do so by setting your video to private. Once the video's set to private you'll be able to share it with fifty other users.
Once you've set the video to private you'll be able to send the video's private URL with your contacts. Once your contacts receive the private URL, they'll be able to sign into their YouTube account and watch the video.
Here's how to find and send a private video's private URL:
Sign into your YouTube account and click the Account link located (at the top-right of any page ).
Then click the Uploaded Videos link. Click and choose the video you want to send to your friends. Then, click the "Edit" button.
Under the "Broadcasting and Sharing Options" section (on the left-hand side of the page towards the bottom) you'll see "Privacy" options. Click the little black arrow / triangle to expand and see all your privacy options (if its not already open and you cannot see your privacy options).
If the video's set to private, there will be a URL section below the "Private" option. This is the special private link that you will send to (up to) fifty contacts so that they can watch your private video.
Email / send a private message including the private video's special URL. When your friends receive the email invitation, they'll need to: Sign into their YouTube account
Click the video URL. They'll then be able to watch the video
That's it! You've now learned how to share a private video with your contacts!

Re: Usagi short film
I forgot Photobucket will allow videos to be uploaded. You can also create subfolders in there (albums), and set the privacy of each as appropriate. When private, to see anything you need the direct link to the media in question, and can't view the rest of the folder contents. This is how most of the stuff I use Photobucket for is used.

Re: Usagi short film
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I just did this through youtube but the quality is pretty bad. Color is off and you can barely see the figures. If I can find out better way to do it I will but for now at least you can get an idea of how things look.

Just watched it - AWESOME!
If you're having trouble with the Private settings, you can also try changing some other settings so the video is Unlisted...

Hope that helps.Unlisted videos
Making a video unlisted means that only people who have the link to the video can view it. To share an unlisted video, just share the link with the people who you’d like to have access to it, and they’ll then be able to see it. Unlike private videos, the people you share the video with do not need to have a Google account to see the video, and they can share with more people simply by forwarding the link to them.
Unlisted videos won’t appear in any of YouTube's public spaces, like your channel page or search results.
