how can peoples ranks be changed, i mean, will they ever, or if you have like 200 posts do you become a samurai or sumthin

Someone has to change your rank manually (I think that only Todd can do that; maybe digulla or someone else can too). I don't remember where was the explanation of the ranks, but they go something like:

Shugyosha (warrior in training): anyone who enters the Dojo for the first time is a shugyosha.

Hatamoto ("flag-wearer" or something like that, I can't remember the translation): if you have helped out the Dojo in some way (porting some pages from the old Dojo to the new one like I did, or creating new sections, or anything), you become a hatamoto.

Shinobi (ninja): I think that you become one if you have done something that gives publicity to UY or the Dojo outside the Internet, like pushing your local library to sell it or display it on a prominent place, or something like that. Am I wrong?

Shogun: there's only one, and that's Todd, the guy in charge of the Dojo.

Sensei: also, there's only one: Stan Sakai, the creator of UY.

and idiot can be hakuchi, ahou, boke, baka, manuke, chijin

if some one could do some more in depth research, that would be great, cause i cant, after all, i am the village idiot
