Comic Fest--What to bring?
Is anyone here going to the SanDiego Comic Fest? If so, is there anything you would like me to bring?
This is a low key affair, and a con where you can really get to talk to people. I will be bringing pages from UY 155: The Secret of the Hell Screen part 1 (of 3) to ink. Julie and her (adult) kids will be joining me.

Re: Comic Fest--What to bring?
Dear Stan,
I can't afford anything special at this time. But if any dojo members can't attend and wants buy something from Stan - I'm willing to get it for you. Just ask Stan if he has what you want, and PM me so I know to pick it up. You will have to pay for shipping/handling and the cost of the item(s).
If any Dojo Members are going to SDCF (or is just a local) and would like to get together for a meal, I'm willing to organize that. Lunch works best for us. Saturday or Sunday is also best for us because we are probably going to leave early on Monday (school and homework calls
). If you have recommendations of good (tasty and reasonable) restaurants in the area, please let me know. Please PM me so we don't clutter up this thread.
Cheryl, Angela, Cami (and two of Cami's Jr., Sarah and Rachel) and I are excited for this. It is part birthday gift to Cami (born in Feb.), part thank you gift to Cami's friends' family (They open their home to Cami after school until I pick her up), and part gift to me for my love comics. I remember when you posted about this first SDCF and how it was a place where you could talk with comic creators like the early days of SDCC. But I couldn't get the time off. So this summer, I made sure to pitch to everyone this birthday/family vacation, and request time off. We are looking forward to experience this smaller comic con, seeing you again, meeting Julie and her kids, and spending time with my family.
Peace, maka

Comic Fest has not posted the Programming Schedule yet. I think I can only ditch work for a day.
I was wondering if you knew what day(s) and time you will be speaking in panels? It would be really cool to watch you ink your work.

Unfortunately I won't be going, but it sounds like fun. I hope everyone has a good time.
"The Secret of the Hell Screen" sounds exciting! 3-part stories are always fun.

I have no idea what my schedule will be at Comic Fest. However, I will be in the Dealers' Room most of the time, probably working. We can always talk there.

I did one of the badge art (1 of 6 by different artists). I will get a few extras for contest prizes.

Re: Comic Fest--What to bring?
I want to apologize, I was hoping to get some copies of the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo 20th Anniversary Special comic to Stan in time to take to the San Diego Comic Fest for Dojo members who had requested copies, but they are not due from the printer until Tuesday, and my confidence in the US Postal Service to get them there in a couple days is next to non-existent. They seem to be averaging a week or more to deliver my 3 day priority packages.

Thanks for trying, Steve. I understand. It gives us another excuse to go to another comic signing in the future.

Re: Comic Fest--What to bring?
I received the 20th Anniversary book, and it looks great! I will bring copies to Comic Fest.
I will also have a Dollar Box, selling some of the old Fantagraphics issues for a buck each.
