Yeah, but if you warn people, they are going to want to look at it and scar themselves mentaly. It's like the picture of that mutilated little girl I saw in a chain letter that said "Don't look at this pic!" If you don't want someone to look don't tempt them.

you have to accomplish something, or in my case, not accomplish something, but i was really passionate about my rank change, it makes me stand out, or in, or strafe..

..but that doesnt matter, make a difference, and then make yourself different.and then you can be like me, or not be like me, its your choice. grab your life by the horns, and call for the little clown man if you fall off.

if you want your rank to be obakegasa, grab an umbrella, a sandal, and chop off a leg. then, your rank shall be thus, i mean, i wanted to be an idiot, and so i..er..well i was already one, but you get it

how about rank based on posts? It could work and it would encourage others to contribute to the site. And perhaps when you get to a certain # of posts, you can choose your own ranking.

It could encourage people to contribute, but on the other hand people could just post for the fact of wanting to get a better title.

The ranking system here on the DojoBoard reflects the current ranking system employed by the Dojo for the past 8 years. For more info on how you can rise in rank, check out http://usagiyojimbo.com/membership/join.html

Musashi's rank was specifically made for the UY DojoBoard, and having a "Village Idiot" was such a great idea we just had to make it happen. It has nothing to do with him being an active poster on the board, and will probably be a one time thing. Rank increases as a result of the number of posts were voted off the island long ago... as pointed out, unnecessary posts will serve to clutter up the board and make it less appealing to serious posters.
