Re: 2016 Convention schedule
Jeff Smith is not on the current list they have up, but he does list it as one of his appearances on boneville.com.Stan Sakai wrote:I just added Cartoon Crossroads Columbus to the list. It is different in that it is an educational forum along with a typical convention. It will start with two days of classes, shows, and events at the OSU campus followed by a two day Expo and panels at the university library, the Columbus College of Art and Design and the Museum of Art.
I understand that Sergio and Jeff Smith will be among the guests.

Lalo Alcaraz
Sergio Aragones
Charles Burns
John Canemaker
Julia Gfrörer
Brandon Graham
Jay Hosler
Ben Katchor
Keith Knight
Ed Koren
Sacha Mardou
Stan Sakai
Seth
Raina Telgemeier
Ann Telnaes
Garry Trudeau
Carol Tyler
David Walker
Ronald Wimberly
Skottie Young
Does anyone know any specifics about this event? Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to buy tickets. Maybe you just show up and hope the artists are in the library.
Re: 2016 Convention schedule
Nevermind, I just found out that Jeff Smith is the President of CXC so that's why he isn't listed as a guest.
I also found out that the event schedule won't be posted until September 1st.

Re: 2016 Convention schedule
Hey Stan,
I know you've been busy at Comic Con, just had a quick question for you.
When might the next opportunity be for someone to get a commission from you? I've wanted to ask for a while, but being on O'ahu haven't had the chance to attend a conference with you. I've just been made aware of a person who attends a lot of the conventions who I could arrange to pick up the commission and order to me from.
Would it be possible for me to order a commission from you anytime in the near future?
Thanks Stan,
Usagi was a huge part of my childhood, would love to have a commission to remind me of those great times!

See the first post in this thread for the conventions that Stan is confirmed at for the rest of the year. There is no issue with asking for a commission and paying for it, and having your friend pick it up for you in general, it happens quite a bit heh. Either contact Stan via PM here or via FB to discuss!
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

Re: 2016 Convention schedule
If anyone here is going to ROSE CITY Comic Con in Portland, OR on Sept. 10-11 2016, and doesn't mind doing a non-Usagi favor, please let me know.
Zack Davisson and/or Mark Morse will be there with their next issue of the Narrow Road, and I'd like to get a copy...

Unless something gets in the way, I'm planning on going to this. Jabba and I wrote on Facebook that we are going to grab lunch afterwards. If any dojo members are interested in joining us, let us know. I suggested that we eat at Marugame Monzo http://www.latimes.com/food/la-fo-gold- ... story.html But I'm open to anything (I'm always up for Korean BBQ) if Udon doesn't sound good.jabba359 wrote:September 24

Re: 2016 Convention schedule
I really wanted to join in on this but it turns out to be a bad weekend for me. My wife will be busy volunteering at an event all day, and I have to take care of some family matters which doesn't leave me any time to drive out to LA. Maybe next time....Maka wrote:Unless something gets in the way, I'm planning on going to this. Jabba and I wrote on Facebook that we are going to grab lunch afterwards. I added a couple of store signings--Atlantis Fantasyworld in Santa Cruz for November 12, and Other Realms in Honolulu, HI for December 10.
