ROKUTOYS SERIES 2 HOLIDAY SALE

Post by roel »

Hi Everyone,

Since I am no longer doing the Usagi movie I am selling off the extra sets that we have in stock. I have about 5 sets of series two that I will sell off. They will be lower than the original and sale price that we had previously. They will sell for $325 a set plus shipping. First come first serve so please contact us on our rokutoys.com page and we can tell you what the total price will be.

Thanks and happy holidays.

Hey Roel!

Good luck with the sale!

I would just like to remind people of how this all got started way back when: http://www.usagiyojimbo.com/forum3/view ... f=2&t=2448

It’s too bad imageshack stopped hosting those original photos of Roel’s work. For me, this was the ultimate fan art that turned into the best Usagi figures ever. I remember little video of Stan doing the random drawing for the prototype. The whole process of developing each statue and then the promo movie. Obviously one of the most complete passion projects ever and we had front seats to it as it happened. That’s what makes this dojo so special.

Now, it seems a lot of promotion of Usagi has moved to social media, as it should. That is where the eyes are and we want Usagi and Stan to be as successful as possible so as many people can enjoy what we have enjoyed here for over 30 years. But I will always treasure the experiences like Roel sharing his process here. That behind the scenes is what makes the super fan giddy.

And Roel, I recently took my first vacation with just Cheryl and me (no kids, just us) in 19 years. And I wore the blue Usagi shirt you made every day of the trip (I don’t sweat or smell much, so it’s okay :)). Your fandom will always be appreciated by me. Peace, maka

Aww. Thanks for the kind words Maka. I didn't realize the pics from imageshack are gone. I'll try to figure out how to post pics on here again or maybe on the FB page. I still need to show the making of the animated movie and the products. I have tons of pics to share and my ideas for the third series of figures. Yeah this venture was done for the fans and I'm glad people liked it. It was a fun journey while it lasted.

I was fortunate that Roel and Rokutoys was able to piece together complete series 1 and 2 sets and ship them to me in Singapore in December. The two boxes arrived in my office 30 minutes before I had to head to the airport for the holidays.

I was back in the office yesterday and brought the box of the first series home with me. I have to say they are incredibly awesome!!! I don’t know how I was unaware of these statues before hand.

I am looking forward to being back the box of series 2 and opening them tonight.

Series 1 looks great in my bookshelf of funny animal HC books (Sakai/Barks/Rosa). Will need to figure out how to fit series 2 into the shelf. Also debating whether to have the long or short horn for Gen. Think I have decided on Usagi with ears instead of the hat.

The third series? On the one hand I'd love to see those, on the other, I'd be heartbroken to know what we never got.

I remember being on holidsy in Japan, and taking photos to use as backdrops for my statues, and specifically photgraphing rooftops in anticipation of a Neko ninja figure.

Thank you so much for making those statuess happen. They are amongst my most prized posessions.
Even if the breath between us smells of alcohol,
Call it confusion in the best way possible.
