Traitors of the Earth puzzle!

Post by Stan Sakai »

Remember that Traitors of the Earth re-creation that I did a few months ago for a special project? Well, it was for a new 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle from IDW. It is scheduled for July, hopefully in time for Comic-Con.

We should have the full color art up soon. It looks great!

Awesome! Never understood why so few comic related jigsaw puzzles were ever released, seems like a natural fit!

Here's a practice puzzle to hold us over until July....

I can't remember the last time I did a puzzle, but I'm excited to pick this up. Very fun idea.

So that's the project that you're using that re-creation for. I figured as much.

It doesn't look great. I'll ask my shop about it this week.

Did you work with someone at IDW to choose this image. While i think its great, I have to wonder out of all the Usagi images over the years how did this one make it to the top? Was it the undead? Zombies are still popular after all the Walking Dead stuff.

Supporting your LCBS is better if you have one available.

The complexity of the image with common elements (zombies) will make this puzzle more challenging to complete. I’m thinking of framing it once I complete it.

It’s my understanding Stan redrew this image, adding Gen and Tomoe. This is a new piece of art. I personally love the choice.

Curious, Mormegil, there are so many great Usagi images over 35 years to choose from. What would be your top 3 images to turn into Usagi jigsaw puzzles? Anyone else here want to add their opinion? I think the Albedo #2 cover doesn’t work well because it isn’t complex enough.

Peace, maka

I haven't done a puzzle since I was a child. I think this'll be fun.

Ah, but what is it that makes a puzzle complex? What makes a puzzle challenging? Lot's of small detail? The Albedo cover uses large blocks of single color. While not complexe in detail, it might be just as challenging during assembly. Such a puzzling topic. :D
