Saga collections
Now that Usagi has settled in at IDW, will Dark Horse continue to release new printings of the Saga series?

Re: Saga collections
Do you mean reprintings of Saga 1-7 and Legends. I assume so.
But new volumes, I assume IDW and Stan will decide if it makes financial sense to do a saga like collection in color.
But that is just guess work on my part.
Peace, maka

Re: Saga collections
Saga 9 is scheduled for publication in the spring, after that it is up to DH to continue publishing them. They hold the rights to most of the b/w versions of the series. IDW has the color rights to those stories.
IDW will color the entire series, but beginning with the Fantagraphics stories, so it will be awhile before they get to the DH material and even longer before they get collected into trade paperbacks and omni-size editions. I always thought the Saga-size is too big and cumbersome. The Polish editions are smaller and make for much easier reading.

I hate to say it, but i agree with you. When the Saga edition came out i sold off all of my single volumes, i don't like to double dip on trades. I like seeing the art in a larger size, but i miss the portability. I read in bed a lot and the Saga volumes wear on the sternum.
I started yet another reread of the series and I flew through the Fantagraphics material because i still own those in the smaller size. But have kinda stalled out on Saga volume 1 because i can't take it everywhere with me.

Thanks all! I got into Usagi VERY late (just a few months ago) so the Sagas are the best way for me and my family to get caught up. I've noticed the price skyrocketing on a few volumes recently - fortunately I have all but #8.

Re: Saga collections
I love the size of the saga books. They are big enough to contain enough stories (the original HCs are a little thin) yet are not massive and overly heavy like the Omnibus that some companies put out

My local comic book store has copies of #8 TPB on the shelf if you still need it and can’t find it elsewhere. Metro Entertainment comics And Games (805) 963-2168DCMxyzptlk wrote:Thanks all! Re: Saga collections
Thanks! There are still some available at stansakai.com as well, so I'll get a copy one way or the other. I actually had one from a particular giant online retailer, but it came so damaged I returned it, tried again, and received another one in the same shape.Maka wrote:

Re: Saga collections
Hmmmm.... this all just reminds me that DH can be rather lax on keeping things in print. I should concentrate on filling any gaps in my collection now that the series has switched publishers and the new color volumes are incoming.
I think volumes 32 and 33 and Saga Volume 8 are the only things I'm missing currently...
