Usagi in TMNT Adventures IDW Game

Post by Shadowfax »

Just received my Kickstarter reward package for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures City Fall by IDW Games. You know which one I selected -- the "Stan Sakai pack!"

Photos attached, this will be a long post . . . comments to follow.

I did not purchase the base set for the TMNT Adventures game, so not clear on how it is played, but I really like the artwork for this module -- a character scorecard for Usagi and each of the Turtles, nice sculpts for the figures, interesting dice, and especially the playing cards. I only photographed a few of the cards, but they make it clear that Usagi Yojimbo is a badass, with excellent mobility and melee combat skills!

Fun stuff, worth the wait (just about exactly one year from the date it was announced and one could "back" the project).

Looks great. I have been waiting a year and still don’t have mine. I backed the entire project despite never having played a game like this before so am curious to see the whole thing.

I finally got mine. It was more than a year since the kickstarter campaign ended but it was well worth the wait. With all the stretch goal extras the $250 pledge for everything seems like a massive value. All the figures are great. Now I just need to see if I can find someone to play the game with me.

I was so tempted to buy the whole set because of the stretch goals (all those free TMNT digital comics, maybe I would finally read past the first 10 issues). But I knew I wouldn't have anyone to play with and I couldn't face Cheryl and explain why I had bought a $250 game that I wouldn't play with anyone. Basically FEAR stopped me from buying more than the Usagi expansion pack.

Enjoy the game. I love seeing people's painting of the figures. Amazing fun!

Peace, maka
