Flippers be nuts on the variants. Going from $15-20ish preorder (on eBay about 2 months in advance to release,) to $60 in hand on the day its released in many cases. With the months in advance pre-orders, one has to really trust a seller as sometimes, the final transaction takes place outside of the opportunity to leave feedback on eBay when the book finally arrives. And that's if the seller even GETS the variants as 'promised' to send you after you've put up the money. I really don't remember the serious markup of all the IDW #1 variants but I could be wrong.

It's especially crazy that the 1:10 is going for more money than it would have cost me to just have my LCS order me ten copies of the regular cover to guarantee an extra copy of the incentive cover for myself.

Thanks for this reminder. My LCBS special ordered me the last one and had to charge me $30.00. I think going through DCBS is a good option. I decided to try them out and it was $12 + $0.50 for a bag/board + $7.50 for shipping + Tax = $20.97. I don't think my local comic book store made any money off of me buying the variant from them last time. I saw on FB some folks had their orders canceled. I've actually got a reputable comic shop getting these in for me, and they are charging £15 for each one. A bit more than a standard 1:10 would sell for here, but I guess Usagi sadly isn't one of those that sells hundreds of thousands per issue (much that I'd love if it did!).
