..this is Traximus
from TMNT: Battle Nexus toy line. He's a good Triceraton & was one of the fighters in the TMNT eps: 'Big Brawl' . Along with Usagi he was featured ijn the B.N. video game as a boss.
The figure is d4mm strange tho. If you push the buttin on his chest all his limbs and neck become loose and he falls down in 'defeat'. There is a crank in the back an when you wind it back up his joints tighten up and he 'Rises in Victory' .. There is a consecutive series of chords in the body that hold him together ..when he is wound up.. these chords pull him together and keep his joints sort of tight.
Pushing the button releases all these chords and well ..he falls apart. It's not so much a bad toy or feature. It's just really weird. I guess it's to make the toy like a Rock-em -sock-em robot and he gets put out of commision if the other fighter beats him. I dunno.
Kina reminds of the little Push Puppets i'd se when i was little and you pushed the button on the bottom and the character would just flop all over the place. Release the button and the puppet wouls spring back into his original standing position ..or so.
.. this Flip-flop feature is so weird for an action figure..
Sometimes, I wish instead of all the "clever" action gimmicks, they'd just give us nicely sculpted figures, with nicely set up joints that we can actually put into cool poses.
I love the new Usagi figure. I finally found him this New Year's weekend.
But I am bummed he's so limited in posing. So they could have an action gimmick.
Ah well, he is still very cool looking, despite the "tied hakama".
Yeah they need to do something about that tied Hakama problem. Every UY action figure has it, including the DHC versions. We need something along the lines of the Toshiro Mifune action figure that was released some time ago. Complete with an actual "mini" hakama and kimono.
ooh. Those are nice.
Now that would be fun! Usagi with "real clothes".
Real hakama anyway.
Now that I've gotten used to wearing them for iado class, hakama are really cool.
I've never jumped around like Tom Cruise did in the Last Samurai movie, though one of the guys in my class laughingly admitted he did when he first put them on.
aaah well. As I commented, it's still real cool to have another Usagi action figure out. And for an animated toon form, he's very cute in his face!
At least I think so.
Ever get the feeling you were born a few centuries too late? I do, especially when I'm wearing my hakama. I got it for Aikido and Iaido but now I cannot go to class, I still try and wear it whenever I get the chance. Makes a great costume piece for parties! I've never been good at the traditional way to fold it, but the tying always seem to come naturaly.
I must say that it's one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I've ever worn, I've found myself wallking, sitting and moving completly different to how I do in normal, modern clothing. I have heard actors mention how much they liked wearing the kimono/hakama for their work and how they have had the same experience as me.
One can understand how they look so cool in Samurai films/shows.
On the actual subject of this thread: where can I find all these UY figures?
I've checked online stores and all I can find is the PVC UY figure, (is it me, or is the face wonky on that figure?), or on ebay the TMNT action figures, the old version, (yikes now I know what they mean about the constipated grimace), and the new version, (much better design, it actually looks like Usagi). But I can only find Usagi and I'd really like to get hold of Gen.
The Way of the Samurai is found in death.

-->> As far as the new TMNT toys of Usagi and Gen.. your just gonna have to put on yir hakama and get on the horse and ride over to Wal-marts or the other stores like the rest of us !!
..the good thing is i am seeing more and more common the Usagi toy.. he has been selling like crazy tho' ..but still ..he's more common than a month ago.
..also today i got one unfonfirmed report of ..
..some guy workin' at a North East Target claimed to have seen him..
.. so of coarse now i'm gonna go on a madd treck today to see if ican find one..
.. of coarse my horse isn't much more than a mule..
I've seen the Usagi figure all over. Bought one for my son, nephew and one for myself. I have not yet seen the Gen figure. I wonder if they will notice an increase in the sales of the Usagi figures and come out with more of them.
-->> ..i've had to take a grain of salt with that 'Gen' sighting ..w/ no signs of him on Ebay or any recent sightings at all the places i've gone..and the fact that Dan Berger at the official TMNT d0t com hasn't posted a carded version of him yet.. makes me really question if Gen went to production or not.
.. but ya never know.. toys are weird that way..
.. there seems to be a bit of a dry spell in TMNT as of late at the main stores liek Wal-mart,Targets and Kmart.. Toys R' us has been gettin' lotsa stuff..so .. dunno..
..tOkKie is always pokin' around the toys all the time..so as soon as i see summin' of Rhino boy or more Usagis i'll let ya know.. i really want that GEN.. Bad now !!
..this is the page ya wanna keep Tabs on ..there is a pattern ..as Mr.Berger posts each new carded toy as they arrive at Mirage HQ.. 1-3 weeks later they show up on the pegs.. it's ~~**mAAaaaGGggIIIc,, Buster..!!
..so far 2005 has listed : Ultimate Daimyo, Dark Assassin ninja, and the Butterfly Swords alien..
..Gen should be next on the list.. unless by a freek of manufacturing he's already out and Mr.B don't got him yet !! OII!!

That was cute scene. The first time I wore MY hakama was at the end of my Aikido Black Belt Presentation. The other black belts tied it on me, then I had to do forward and backwards rolls on each side, to "break it in" ... and see if I could do it without tripping!
Man I am behind! I didn't know there was an Usagi doll last year! I had the old Playmates one (dog ate it), and I still have the Dark Horse/Antartica one, now I need to track this new Playmates version!
-->> i haven't seen alot of Usagi's around here lately..
..3 newer Battle Nexus figs (same series Gen is in) have come out.. Gen ..when he is out will round out the assortment.. i'm assuming some more Usagis will be out on pegs shortly around that time..
.. i'm gonna guess my 'lead' from a few weeks ago was misleading..
Hmmm, I have to say the Gen figure looks good and the action button is odd.
Maybe it's the all new....
"AMAZING NEW GEN ACTION FIGURE. RECREATE YOUR FAVORITE SCENES OF GEN FROM THE PAGES OF USAGI YOJIMBO."
"OH NO WHAT'S THIS? LOOKS LIKE GEN COLLAPSED. GEN COMES WITH
*I-DRANK-TOO-MUCH-SAKE* ACTION. JUST PRESS THE BUTTON ON HIS CHEST AND SEE HIM PASS OUT AT HIS FAVORITE INN."
