General discussion about Usagi Yojimbo, the comics, the stories, the characters, collectibles, TV appearances, Stan Sakai, Space Usagi, Nilson & Hermy, and all other related topics.
I have been following the comic since roughly 95-96, although I did know the computer "Samurai Warrior". But I guess that that just qualifies me as a newby.
Anyway, I sent the other day Mac OS X Usagi screensaver which is now available in the Downloads and I thought that it would be about high time to register.
It is just a shame that I missed Stan visit to Spain. I would have loved to have met him in person. I guess that I will have to wait for his next European trip.
Just for info I am Spanish, but I live in the UK. When I was younger I used to collect quite a lot of comics. Nowadays it is just Usagi (the compilation books of which I have all and every year's calendar), the odd Sergio Aragones comic that I can find when I pop to comic shops in London once every many months and some Judge Dredd hardcovers. When visiting in Spain sometimes I go to the comic shops I used to go, but I awed by how much they have grown and how much stuff that I don't know there is that I hardly buy anything.
Anyway, this should be enough for an introduction.
Thank you guys. I wasn't sure if it is the norm to post an introduction message, but thank you for your replies.
Ziritrio, q tal? It was really a shame that I learnt so late about Stan's visit. I am not very skilled artistically and I make the avatar in a rush.
Maybe if I think of something better and manage to draw it I will replace it. In retrospect it is a bit silly, as I am sure that there must be more people with similar avatars.
I am off to the nearest Toys'r'Us now to see if they have the Usagi and Ken toys.
Myself and number of others would be very happy to see you in the UK at some point in the future Mr Sakai
What event will you be attending in the Netherlands in August? Assuming it doesn't clash with a proposed roadtrip I'm doing in the US that month I could make it over...
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

I don't know all the details yet, but it is for a convention in a town (Eindhoven, I think) near the Belgium border. I'll post more information as I receive them.
Thank you for keeping up with Usagi, even though you've given up most of you comic book buying. Thank you for the screen saver.
I've never visited the UK, but I hope to someday. I do enjoy traveling and will be in France in a couple of weeks, and the Netherlands in August.
If you have any comments or questions, I'll be glad to answer them on the Dojo boards.
Thank you, Sakai-sama. I truly regret not having signed in before. The screen saver is nothing complicated and more credit goes to you and the people that created the original wallpapers.
I picked up my first Usagi comic in the early 90's from a comic shop in Valencia (Spain) and it is still at my mom's flat. That was when I used to buy comics regularly. I remember quite well that it was the story of the gambler that gets Usagi to fight and that he is poisoned by the widow of another fighter at the end. It is the blend of Japanese history/culture and action through a fantastic story-telling that has hooked me since. And I am not saying this because it is you.
It might be possible for me to go to Holland by then (if it does not clash with the family holidays). I have friends in Belgium that I am due to visit for a long time, so it would be a perfect excuse!
But as someone else did say, you would be very welcomed if you ever decided to visit the UK.
Thanks again for your reply. I will take on your offer and post some questions at some point.
