Ahh...but was Usagi really ignorant? My impression of from character expression and story development to me, indicated even if he may not have known exactly what he had gotten himself into, that he had a strong hunch on something. People were dying and killing over something not worth risking life and limb over. I'm sure Usagi would be well aware of what politics happen in the Japan he lives within.

To counter my own statement I am inclined to remind fans (Including myself) that Usagy also once risked life for inanimate objects more than willingly. Remember when his swords were stolen? By the samurai code, yes that would seem to make sense he'd walk through hell and hot water just to get them back.

On the other hand, he is a lone ronin no longer held to the lord who wich he served under. Now no longer living the military life, who else is he responsible for? No one. So maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal for one such as he. Now I think of those characters who in issue 82, ones who were not samurai but commoners, risking their lives for an inanimate object, was it wasted life, ones that could have lived longer had they just gone about their daily normal lives?

Were I in Usagi's position, I wouldn't be happy. Then again, I am agnostic and find starting a fight over any religion or in the name of any god silly and wasted resources. And more importantly, lives. Were I in Usagi's position, I'd not want any more part in what transpired either. Whatever his own personal reason's, I do not vein to know as he is not my character.

I ask this to myself. Was it a deadly struggle over an inanimate object or a form of censorship? This topic just seems to grow and broaden, greying the shades of opinion even more as we delve deeper into this.

:D Ah, but then, we are acctually getting into some actual historic stuff that really happend douring the time period, Usagi was put into.

I have to agree with you on the sent that usagi wasent all ignorant about the Christian faith, you said so yourself, he had a hunch, and he did...and if he was courious enough to know more about it, he might have asked more questions. He also had enough respect (Sometihng acctual people did not have those days, much) to bring the "item of bad luck" to the merchint man. That was very nice.

If i was in Usagi's shoes...I probubly would have fallen into the Chritiananity trap thing that was goig on, not saying that event was a bad thing, but I guess because I already belive in God. XD!!!

Anjin-san i had no clue about the phrase you say "In short, a non-trustworthy and dishonorable retainer is not something any lord would tolerate and therefore the Christianity of the time (i.e. 17th century Catholicism) was a dangerous religion that threatened Japanese society. It had to be purged if the Japanese feudal system was to survive."--<-- that was never some thing I acctually took to think about!.....Very cool..
